Speaking to reporters in Mumbai on Sunday, Deora said about 3.80 lakh homes in the city have been given piped gas connection.

Mahanagar Gas, which is providing piped gas in the city, is expected to cover those areas where piped gas has not yet been made available till now.

There are problems of digging of roads to lay the pipelines, Deora said, adding that recently he had a meeting with the municipal commissioner in this regard.

South Mumbai, the constituency which Deora has represented, has not received piped gas even as many suburbs have got it.

He said whole of Mumbai would now get piped gas over the next two years.
