Sheena’s mother Indrani Mukerjea and her husband Peter had allegedly deposited a huge sum they earned from the sale of INX Media, a media group the duo co-founded, in Sheena’s name. The report states the conspiracy to kill Sheena was hatched by Indrani, after Sheena refused to part with the money.

Based on the report submitted by Dayal, the Maharashtra government has given its own report to the Centre, along with a request to hand over the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
