CROSS-BORDER human traffick appears to be posing a big challenge to the district police here.
The police, along with members of the Manav Sewa Sansthan, a non governmental organisation, arrested two agents involved in human trafficking and rescued four Nepali girls in front of the railway station on Saturday night.
There were two other Nepali women who were married and they were released by the cops.
Sources said that these Nepali girls were to be sent to West Asia through Mumbai and the agents had lured the Nepalis through a promise to provide them jobs in West Asia. They were brought here to board the train for Mumbai from where they had to catch a flight for their onward journey.
According to sources, the Nepali girls were brought here in an Indica car and the Cantonment police started the interrogation. Later, they arrested Dan Bahadur and Chandan Jaiswal who were said to be the agents of the gang involved in human trafficking.
The Nepali girls were identified as Tila Rayee (18), Shard Rayee (20), Goma Rayee (20), Phool Kumari Rayee (23) and two married women Dubri and Meera Rayee.
During the interrogation, the police contacted Dubri’s husband in Mumbai on phone and after confirmation, they released Dubri and Meera who were said to be sisters.

{{/usCountry}}The cops have arrested both the agents and handed over the Nepali girls to Manav Sewa Sansthan to send them back to Nepal.
Secretary of the Sansthan Rajesh Mani said that during interrogation, the girls admitted that they were brought here on the pretext of being given a respectable job.
