With Dharm Jagran Samiti (DJS) regional head Rajeshwar Singh spewing communal venom once again, Aligarh police have sprung into action and have started collecting evidence to initiate legal action against him.
In Etah to attend a function on Wednesday, Singh reportedly said, "India would be made free of Muslims and Christians by 2021 and they would all be converted to Hinduism. India is the country of Hindus alone and (Muslims and Christians) have no right to live here."
He also said that the conversion programme would now be held in Aligarh in January 2015.
DIG, Aligarh range, Mohit Agarwal told HT, "Rajeshwar Singh's statement is a threat to communal harmony and peace. I have directed the Etah SSP to go through his statement, verify its authenticity and the circumstances in which it was delivered and take legal action against him after collecting evidence, because no individual or organisation has the right to hurt religious sentiments of any community."
"Nobody will be allowed to disturb communal harmony, peace, law and order. If it is proved the statements were delivered by him, legal action will be taken against Singh," he added.

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, statements of the DJS leader seem to have worried even the RSS' central leadership, which has summoned him to Delhi.
Saffron leaders and places where conversion programmes may be held are also being kept under close watch by the administration and intelligence agencies.
Agarwal has issued orders to SSPs of Aligarh, Etah, Hathras and Kasganj to be on alert.
The government has been asked to deploy PAC and RAF in the communally-sensitive Aligarh and Hathras districts.
