Hours after a thumping victory in Jharkhand and impressive gains in Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls on Tuesday, BJP leaders dared West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee to announce early polls in the state and face interrogation in the Saradha probe in an anti-corruption rally.
Though the BJP has been stridently attacking Didi and her party colleagues over the past few months on the Saradha scam and Burdwan blast cases, this is the first time that they raised the demand for early polls in Bengal.
Assembly polls in Bengal are scheduled in the summer of 2016.
Union minister for surface transport and shipping Nitin Gadkari, BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh and state president Rahul Sinha were the main speakers at a rally held in Kolkata.
“You have started fearing the BJP. Mamata Banerjee, I dare you to call assembly polls in 2015. Let’s fight it out. We are ready,” said Sinha.
“We have emerged victorious in Jharkhand. In Bengal too, achhe din aanewale hain,” remarked Gadkari.
On Tuesday, Sinha urged the people to write letters to Mamata and ask for early polls. He also accused the TMC government of deliberately delaying on municipal polls, which were already due.

{{/usCountry}}“The present Bengal government has no right to stay in power. It has become sterile. The people of Bengal are with us. We will accept the people's mandate if it goes in favour of those who stole Saradha funds and those who sheltered terrorists,” Sinha said.
