At a party rally in Ranchi, AICC secretary Abdul Manan accused the BJP of shying away from a debate on the 2G spectrum in Parliament.

"The BJP is running away from a debate in Parliament over the 2G spectrum issue... but it knows that the foundation of 2G spectrum was laid during NDA tenure," he said.

Pointing out challenges before the nation like communalism, parochialism and regionalism, Manan said, "the BJP has the distinction of witnessing one of its former national presidents Bangaru Laxman being caught in a corruption scandal."

AICC leader K Keshav Rao asked partymen in Jharkhand to take forward the central flagship programmes and hold meetings even in remote areas to make people aware of the benefits.

PCC President Pradip Kumar Balmachu said the Congress never compromised on issues relating corruption and investigations were on even against its leader Suresh Kalmadi.
