A 19-year-old girl in a Chhattisgarh village, who was projected as a reincarnation of Sai Baba, was arrested today for hurting the religious sentiments of the people, a senior police officer said.

Besides Madhushila Sahu of Kharragaon village, 14 members of her family also were arrested on charges of spreading superstition and hurting the religious sentiments of the people, Superintendent of Police, Rahul Sharma, said.
She was projected as the reincarnation of the saint among the villagers, who began to worship her, he said.
Lawyers and journalists of the district had lodged a complaint with police against the practice thus bringing the incident to light.
