Ten girls, who were lured to the Capital on the pretext of being given employment, were rescued from central Delhi’s red light area, police said on Tuesday.

The girls, who are aged between 15 and 18 years, were rescued from GB Road’s kotha number 58, following a tip-off provided by Rescue Foundation, an NGO, police said.

"All of them belong to poor families and were lured to Delhi on the pretext of being given jobs," said Devesh Srivastava, additional CP (central).

According to police, the raid followed information about a minor girl, who had gone missing from West Bengal, and was being confined at a brothel.

"Out of the 10 rescued girls, nine are residents of West Bengal, while one is from Bihar," said Srivastava.
