Govt may ban sale of electric stove

Talking to reporters today he said the development in the state had set on a take-off mode and people would soon begin reaping its rewards. As far as Gwalior was concerned, the cabinet committee of state government had cleared the ambitious Madhavrao shopping mall scheme in Lashkar and Thatipur commercial cum residential scheme.

Gwalior Development Authority and Housing Board had been appointed for implementation of above projects, he informed. The minister said that anti-encroachment drive in the city was important for restraining land mafia. He said builders and developers must adhere to prescribed norms. With a view to avoid public inconvenience we brought special legislation and regularised FAR violation within 10 per cent limit under ‘compromise formula’.

Besides, the government has also discussed plans to revive sick and closed industries of the state including Gwalior. Emphasising on other welfare schemes, Malaiya said the government sponsored district level mass marriage programme for poor people will be organised in the city on July 5. An amount of Rs 5000 will be given to the couple and additional Rs 1000 per couple on miscellaneous expenses will be spent by the government on mass marriage.
