A consortium of IERS, DLF and ITNL was awarded the Rs 900-crore project for development of Metro link from Delhi to Gurgaon, on Monday, that will help decongest the connecting roads.
A proposal on the metro link project between Sikanderpur Station to National Highway No 8 in Gurgaon has been approved by the Haryana Cabinet which met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, an official statement said.
M/s Metro Rail Gurgaon has been selected through open bidding, it said.
The estimated cost of project is Rs 900 crore which will be fully financed by the developer. The total length of the line is 1.2 km on double track and 3.7 km on single track. There will be six stations.
The developer will pay Rs 765 crore to Haryana Urban Development Authority as connectivity charges over the next 35 years. It will also pay percentage of revenue earning from advertisements right and property development to HUDA. This will be five to 10 per cent.
Gurgaon and Delhi are linked through two major roads, Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road (MG Road) and Delhi-Jaipur Highway (NH-8). Both the routes are equally popular and the peak hour traffic on these roads is well above their designed capacity.

A cyber city in being developed along Vishwakarma Marg and NH-8 and Moulsari Avenue in Gurgaon.
