Governor NN Vohra on Tuesday conducted an aerial survey of the Pahalgam-Panjtarni route of the Amarnath Yatra and visited the Sheshnag yatra camp to review the security arrangements.
He held discussions with Col Mahendra Pal Singh Mourya, CO, 10 Mahar regiment, and senior officers of J&K police, CRPF and BSF personnel.
Vohra also called for close co-ordination amongst various agencies involved in the management of the yatra.
He directed the concerned departments particularly the Pahalgam Development Authority to speed up ongoing works to ensure completion of the Chandanwari-Pissu Top- Sheshnag-Mahagunus Top- Poshpatri-Panjtarni track by June 28, so as to ensure that all arrangements can be timely put in place.
Elaborate arrangements have also been made for extending medical facilities to pilgrims. A base hospital, medical camp by ISM, army, BSF and CRPF are being set up at the camp location.
