Corporator Kamlesh Singh has raised several points on the exercise done by ANN in completion of delimitation of wards.

He has drawn the attention of the Governor and the State Election Commissioner (SEC) towards the Nagar Nigam not following the Allahabad High Court order in delimiting the wards. In a letter faxed to both the dignitaries, Singh said considering the population of the city at least 90 wards should have been created in place of 80 wards.

The ANN has completed the delimitation of wards on the basis of its rapid census while the court has directed to carry out the exercise on the ground of the census-2001 as the State Information Department has registered it as the official census.

Singh alleged that Section 32 of the Nagar Nigam Act has been violated by the ANN because it has no population record locality-wise. Several localities have not been divided on the ground of main roads.

The delimitation of localities situated between MG Marg and Jawahar Lal Nehru Road as carried out by the NN was illegal.

The population of wards has not been divided equally as directed by the state government in its order for carrying out the of delimitation of wards.

He urged both the dignitaries to direct ANN to publish the draft delimitation of wards in newspapers so that people may suggest changes for the betterment of the city besides complying with the Court's order.

Meanwhile, ANN officials claimed to have executed the delimitation of wards as per the instructions issued by the State Government.

The report was prepared to be sent to Lucknow, said the sources.
