HC summons Agra DM, SSP in land case

The Allahabad High Court directed Agra?s district magistrate and senior superintendent of police to be personally present in the Court on September 8 to explain as to why they failed to demarcate undisputed land in spite of an order passed by the court in a case.

The Allahabad High Court directed Agra’s district magistrate and senior superintendent of police to be personally present in the Court on September 8 to explain as to why they failed to demarcate undisputed land in spite of an order passed by the court in a case.

This order was passed by a division bench comprising Justice Amitava Lala and Justice VC Mishra on a writ petition filed by Puja Sahkari Avas Samiti, Agra.

The petitioner alleged that in spite of the court order, the DM and the SSP, Agra, had not yet demarcated the undisputed land allotted to him by the Avas and Vikas Parishad. The court sought explanation from both officials for not implementing the court’s order.

Nine sentenced to jail

NINE PERSONS of Chitrakoot district were sentenced to four month’s simple imprisonment under Contempt of Court Act, by the Allahabad High Court.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza and Justice Ravindra Singh convicted the nine persons, residents of Parasiya village in Chitrakoot, on the reference made by the district judge, Chitrakoot.
