Amid the beats of Dhol along with Bhangra by his near and dears and distribution of sweets, Surjeet Singh, an Indian Spy in Pakistan who was released on Thursday from wagha Border, received a 'War Heroic' Welcome at his village Fidda, 38 km away from Ferozepur.
Thursday was a unique and more colourful day than others for the residents of village Fidda's vicinity as since morning villagers were dancing on the tunes of dhol to welcome Surjit, a home coming after thirty years of confinement in Pakistan.
The moment, Surjit accompanied by family members reached the main crossing of Talwandi Bhai on the Ferozepur-Moga road, slogans were raised in his favour while a number of representatives of various organizations honored him by giving 'siropas'.
He expressed deep happiness after returning home to reunite with his family members after a span of 30 years.
"With the grace of almighty I have a re-union with my family three decades', uttered an emotionally choked Surjeet Singh.
"It is rueful that none of Indian authorities ever bothered about my family in the last thirty years," aggrieved Surjit.
Meanwhile he expressed deep gratitude to all his relatives and villagers who extended help to his family in the need of hour.

Surjeet's release comes after Pakistan first announced that it was to free death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh, but hours later the presidential spokesman clarified that authorities had actually ordered the release of Surjeet and not Sarabjit
