THE MP HIGH Court today served notice on the Special Establishment of Police - Lokayukta - on a plea seeking direction to the Lokayukta to investigate and register cases against the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (JNKVV) Vice-Chancellor and 12 others for resorting to corrupt practices.
The petitioner made four complaints to the Lokayukta two each in 2003 and 2004 against Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Vice-Chancellor Dr D P Singh, Liaison Officer Dr H B S Bhadoria and other officials for inquiry into the allegations including misappropriation of funds and fraudulently giving admission to large number of students against the quota fixed for the displaced families of Jammu and Kashmir in the veterinary colleges.
Justice S S Kemkar served notice on the petition filed by Pramod Tiwari stating that the Lokayukta in its reply of December 8, 2004, to his complaints said the Vice-Chancellor and other officers does not come within the definition of the public servant.
Surprisingly, the petitioner stated, the Lokayukta had filed charge sheet against the former vice-chancellor Dr K S Johar and others under the Prevention of Corruption Act in other corruption case previously.
Therefore, he sought direction to quash the Lokayukta decision and investigate the complaint and register cases against the authorities.
