Home secy takes stock ofrelief operations in Jammu

Union home secretary Anil Goswami reviewed relief and rescue operations here on Monday. Goswami took up a detailed review of LPG, ration supply, status of roads, health and number of other issues while chairing a high-level meeting.

Union home secretary Anil Goswami reviewed relief and rescue operations here on Monday.
Goswami took up a detailed review of LPG, ration supply, status of roads, health and number of other issues while chairing a high-level meeting.

Underlining the need for early restoration of road connectivity, Goswami directed the department concerned to ensure that all roads are restored at the earliest so that people could get supply of essential items in a hassle-free manner.

He directed the inspector general of police (IGP), Jammu, for additional deployment of police personnel along the national highway so that vehicles could ply smoothly and there are no traffic jams and other related problems along the highway and trucks carrying ration supply, LPG and other essential items could reach Kashmir smoothly.

Regarding the supply of medicines to Kashmir, director, health services, was directed to ensure that adequate number of drugs, including antidiarrhoeal, antibiotic and antidiabetic drugs are supplied to Srinagar on priority.

Regarding the supply of LPG to Kashmir the authorities concerned said trucks carrying LPG were dispatched to Kashmir via Sinthan top and Mughal road.

Later, the union secretary along with the divisional commissioner and deputy commissioner also visited fourth Tawi Bridge that got washed away during the recent floods.
