HP agri varsity, Eternal University to ink R&D pact

Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, Palampur and Eternal University at Baru in Sirmaur district will sign a memorandum of understanding on academic, research and extension education exchange programs next month.

“A committee comprising three members from each varsity will work upon the areas of mutual interest to finalize the agreement so that it is signed by mid-April,” said HPAU vice- chancellor KK Katoch following a meeting between officials of both universities in Palampur on Monday. He said the basic purpose of the MoUs was to extend more facilities to students of both universities and provide the latest agricultural technologies to the state's farmers, particularly those in Sirmaur district, he added.

Eternal University vice- chancellor HS Dhaliwal said his university was offering several undergraduate residential programs for female students. “The varsity also started the BSc (agriculture) program from the last academic session. We're willing to collaborate with HP Agriculture University for developing new crop varieties,” he added.
