Dutt, in an interview to NDTV revealed he had done a sting on the minister, and had the tapes of their conversation.

“I did a sting on the minister to expose his bias. He told me cases against me would go on if I contested from the Samajwadi Party,” the channel quoted the actor as saying.

Though Dutt and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh during the course of the interview did not identify the minister, but made it clear that they were referring to the Law Minister H.R. Bhardwaj.

The minister denied Dutt’s allegations.

“He came to meet me recently, uninvited and without an appointment to seek my blessings and touched my feet. There is no question of threat, this is all absurd,” Bhardwaj told HT.

Bhardwaj dared Singh and Dutt to show the tapes. “It is bad to mislead the public like this. If they have the tapes those should be shown and then I should be asked what and why I had said.”
