"The Centre initially denied tapping mine or Amar Singh's phones and said that the letters were fake. I have the copy of the letters," said Mulayam, while addressing a public meeting at a school campus.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil had dismissed the letters purportedly of the Delhi Principal Secretary and the Joint Commissioner of Police as forged.

Yadav said that he was ready to produce the letters in court if need be to prove that they were genuine, and alleged that Central agencies like the Intelligence Bureau and the Research and Analysis Wing had carried out the tapping at the behest of the UPA at the Centre.

"The Congress is doing its utmost to send Mulayam Singh and Amar Singh to jail," he said.
