"You may give compensation or jobs to the people, who have protected their land for ages. But still their claim remains. Any industry aiming for long-term profit amid peaceful law and order should always keep the people's interest in mind too," Jaiswal said at the National Industrial Conclave, 2010, apparently referring to displacement issues due to industrial expansion.

Emphasising on the need for proper implementation of corporate social responsibility by industries, the Union Minister called upon industrial tycoons to work towards uplifting the standard of life of the people living around their companies.

He said that the economy of Jharkhand should get a boost with industries such as ArcelorMittal evincing interest in setting up shop in the mineral-rich state.
