Rajesh Premjibhai Patel, 44, drowned during a picnic party at Al Jazair Beach in Zallaq after drinking all night, a public prosecution spokesman said citing a witness's statement.

There were 17 people at the picnic. They decided to go swimming at the dawn after partying whole night, the spokesman was quoted as saying to the 'Gulf Daily News'.

Patel went missing in the water and his friends could not notice him as they were drunk, the spokesman said.
