IT department submits report on suspended IAS couple

The Income Tax department has submitted an interim report to the Madhya Pradesh Government, on the disgraced IAS couple--Arvind and Tinu Joshi-- who were suspended after IT sleuths recovered Rs three crore in cash from their residence during a raid this year.

The Income Tax department has submitted an interim report to the Madhya Pradesh Government, on the disgraced IAS couple--Arvind and Tinu Joshi-- who were suspended after IT sleuths recovered Rs three crore in cash from their residence during a raid this year.

Official sources said in Bhopal on Thursday that the report contains details of investments by the Joshis in properties and share market.

Following the submission of the report the possibility of further action against the suspended IAS couple has increased and it is possible that they might even be terminated from service.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary, Avni Vaish had written to Brijesh Gupta, Director-General Income Tax asking him to give details about the operations against the Joshis.

At least Rs three crore in cash, jewellery and documents of properties disproportionate to their known sources of income was recovered from the residence of the Joshis during the Income Tax raid in February this year, following which they were suspended.
