The all Jammu hotels and lodges association has welcomed governor's rule in the state. Addressing a meeting, the association president Inderjeet Khajuria said the state should remain under Central rule until a stable and viable government is formed.
Khajuria urged the governor to ensure resumption of work on the otherwise stalled tourism projects including artificial lake project on Tawi river, Mubarak Mandi-Bahu Fort cable car, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and inter-state bus terminal with multistoried shopping-cum-parking complex etc.
While enumerating the places of tourist attraction, Khajuria expressed his dissatisfaction claiming that the exploitation of tourism potential has always remained a problem. "Otherwise there is dearth of attractive avenues of tourist importance in Jammu province," he said.
Khajuria appealed to the governor for his personal interaction with tourism related traders as, he said, there is every possibility of further deterioration of the trade, which will affect the survival of 5 lakh people dependant on it.
"They are at the verge of starvation. Jammu needs to be made an independent tourist destination for the betterment of state," he added.
