The Jharkhand police has started investigating the possibility of the involvement of youngsters from Ranchi in the serial blasts in Bihar on Sunday.

“We have some information about Ranchi’s connection in the incident,” said SN Pradhan, additional director general of police (ADGP) and Jharkhand Police spokesperson.

The police conducted raids in several areas of the state capital on Sunday on the basis of information provided by those detained in Patna. One person was reportedly detained in Ranchi.

During an operation in CTO Basti in the Dhurwa area, Ranchi, the police seized a cooker bomb, a timer, wires and Islamic literature from one Ishtiaq Ansari’s house. The house of one Mohammad Imtiaz was also raided. Imtiaz was reportedly arrested in Patna after the blasts.

Pradhan declined to reveal anything on the intelligence inputs shared between the Jharkhand and the Bihar police. He added that the police were yet to make any arrest.

According to an IPS officer, the police are searching for Ansari and five others for their alleged involvement in the attack.
