KK Attri has been appointed the next director general of police in Punjab, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal announced on Friday in Chandigarh.
Attri succeeds N.P.S. Aulakh, who has been named director general of the National Security Guard (NSG).

Attri is a 1971-batch Indian Police Service officer. He will retire in June 2009.
