Kalam arrives on three-day visit to South Korea

Kalam had earlier told journalists that he would like to see India's exports to South Korea rise to $10 billion

President APJ Abdul Kalam on Monday arrived on a three-day visit to South Korea, the first by an Indian President.

Kalam had earlier told accompanying journalists that he would like to see India's exports to South Korea rise to $10 billion in the next three to four years.

The President also emphasised that rural development would be one of the high points of his discussions with leaders of South Korea.

He said cooperation between New Delhi and Seoul in Information Technology, knowledge economy and stem cell research were other areas which would figure in his talks.
