Kalam greets countrymen on New Year eve

The President urged the Indians to resolve to excel in all their endeavours in the New Year 2006.

Greeting the nation on the eve of the New Year, President APJ Abdul Kalam on Saturday urged the countrymen to resolve to excel in all their endeavours.

"On the occasion of New Year, I extend my greetings and best wishes to all our people in India and abroad," the President said in a message.

"As we enter into the New Year 2006, let us resolve to excel in whatever we do, whatever may be our mission of life or profession or task in which we are engaged," he said adding this attitude and performance would definitely make the country great and bring smiles to a billion people.
