Actor Kamal Hassan on Monday contributed Rs 21 lakh to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Public relief fund to help Tsunami affected people.

He handed over a cheque for this amount to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the secretariat, an official press release said.

The Chief operating officer, HCL Technologies, Ranjit Narasimhan handed over a cheque of Rs one crore to the chief minister, the release added.
Actress of yesteryears, Anjalidevi contributed Rs one lakh and $3,500 to the fund, while music director Ilayaraja gave Rs five lakh.
A sum of Rs 9.68 crore was given by several persons to the fund on Monday, the release said.
