In a major breakthrough in the murder of driver of a hijacked taxi, the Kangra police have arrested one accuse from Jammu and Kashmir.

The case had hit the headlines, when on January 22 issue an alert suspecting that the people those who hijacked the taxi from Gaggal of Kangra and murdered its driver had terror links.

Kangra Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Gandhi told that the accused, identified as Kuljeet Singh alias Raja, was arrested from Riyasi district in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The two more accused will be arrested soon,” said Gandhi adding that the arrested person has no terror link but was a history-sheeter.

“The accused was infect arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police in a rape and murder of a nine- year- old girl in Riyasi area,” told Gandhi adding that the vehicle has also been recovered.

Investigation by the J&K police found that the taxi they used in the crime was registered in Himachal but the number plate was changed.

“They shared the information with us and it was found to be the taxi that was hijacked from Gaggal,” said Gandhi.
