Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Monday condoled the death of Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram calling him a "valiant fighter for the cause of social justice".

"Kanshi Ram had worked tirelessly for the welfare and uplift of the backward classes and the downtrodden throughout his life," Karunanidhi said in a condolence message addressed to BSP general secretary Mayawati.

The DMK chief said Kanshi Ram was true to his cause and sincere in his methodology.

The veteran BSP leader died in New Delhi early on Monday due to complications arising out of multiple ailments he had been suffering for quite some time.
