THE BODIES of two children Chandu and Bitti (both aged 4), who went missing on January 23, were found brutally cut to pieces and stuffed in a gunny bag. The bag was found in an abandoned house in nearby Dera Bari village in Shankargarh late last night.

It has caused tension in the area and PAC has been rushed to check any violence.
Public anger started in fact after police failed to make any headway in the case. Residents staged a road blockade following which the police assured them of finding out the missing children within 24 hours.
What has come as a shock and surprise to the villagers is the way police walked up to the house late last night and recovered the two children’s bodies. How could they suddenly come to know that the bodies were hidden in the house when the entire village had been searching for them for eleven days, all in vain?
They ask. Angry villagers also tried to stop a train but were prevented from doing so by the police, drawn from several police stations, and the PAC..
Senior district and police officers were in Shankargarh to assuage the hurt feelings of the villagers who appeared rudely shaken by the brutality of the killers. Though revenge with the parents of the kids appears to be the cause behind this ghastly killing, there were no clues in the hands of the police as to the identity of the killers.
