Sudha Gupta, mother of Ruchi Bhuttan who allegedly committed suicide on July 5, has written to Haryana director general of police (DGP) RS Dalal to intervene in the case so that the victim's viscera samples can be preserved and not tampered with.
Gupta says her "mistrust on the local police stemmed from the latter's non-cooperative attitude through the course of investigation".
She has also blamed the investigation officer and station house officer (SHO), slamming their negligence after they allegedly ignored requests to record her statement.
"My daughter had called me before her death but the police did not record my statement. Ruchi had told me regarding a criminal conspiracy against her by her husband Sumit and in-laws. Meera Chopra, who was having an affair with Sumit, is also involved," wrote Gupta in her letter dated July 15.
Bhuttan had allegedly committed suicide after a fight with her husband over his illicit relations with Chopra, the cousin of a famous Bollywood actor.
The victim's mother further blamed authorities for keeping her in the dark as the "police officials are not willing to inform her about the progress of the murder case".
Preeti Gambhir, Ruchi's sister, said: "We have been approaching the investigating officer and SHO of DLF Phase-2 but they are not recording our statements."

{{/usCountry}}The family is also demanding that Ruchi's viscera samples be preserved for analysis by CFSL, CBI or any other independent agency to check for suspected poisoning or foul play.
They also fear that the report can be tampered as the accused is highly influential.
Meanwhile, police officials claimed they are investigating the matter. "We have asked Ruchi's family to share any evidence or information. Also, we can assure them that no one can influence the investigation, and the law will take its own course," said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP (east), Gurgaon police.
Sumit is police custody at present. Ruchi's family submitted a diary, written in 2007, where she had narrated the torture meted out to her by Sumit.
Ruchi's family has decided to organise a candlelight vigil at India Gate next week. The plan, however, had to be deferred as Delhi was put on high alert after the Mumbai serial blasts.
