Investigating officer and chowki in-charge of Kotwali Krishna Kumar Sharma visited the officials concerned to investigate the matter.
The thirteen employees of KMC in question did not turn up for the Panchayat election duty held two months back despite orders of the district administration.
The 13 employees in question are assistant engineer Ashok Anand, peon Ali Ahmad, balder Ram Bhajan, clerks Ashok Kumar, Om Prakash Gupta, Shiv Shekhar, Mani Ullah, Mohammed Wasim, Amit Kumar Shukla, Mukhtar Hussain, Narendra Singh Rathore, Sanjay Kumar and Rajiv Kumar Tripathi.
According to information, FIR had been lodged against these employees by ADM Supplies at the Kotwali after the panchayat election. Raj Pal Singh was initially investigating the matter. After his promotion and subsequent transfer, Krishna Kumar Sharma is probing the case.
Sharma informed the matter was being investigated and it would take some time before the report could be submitted.
“I am investigating the matter and trying to find out the reason behind the absence of these employees from election duty, “ stated Sharma.
“There is also a possibility of two election duty cards being issued to one person. Therefore, even after attending the election duty at one centre there is a possibility of some of them being marked absent at another centre,” added Sharma.
However, the surprise visit of investigation officer upset the KMC employees who tried to play down the incident as routine.
