RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Friday took a jibe at veteran politician L K Advani, who was elected Chairman of BJP Parliamentary Party in a first step towards a generational change in the party's organisational hierarchy, saying he should apologise for his "past mistakes".
"Advaniji has now left the post of the Leader of the Opposition. He has retired and now he should repent the mistakes he committed in the past and apologise for them," Prasad, whose government had arrested Advani in Bihar during the BJP leader's 'Rathyatra' in the nineties, told reporters outside the Parliament in New Delhi.
Stating that no body can become a leader in this country by "ignoring" the poor and the minorities, Prasad said the BJP leader must be "realising it now".
