The police will have to look into the charges levelled in a private complaint by two lawyers - Siranjan Basha and KN Balaraj.

The lawyers had moved court after obtaining sanction from governor HR Bhardwaj to prosecute Yeddyurappa on charges of corruption and illicit land deals.

Additional city civil and sessions judge CB Hipparagi has asked the Lokayukta police to complete by May 4 the investigation of five cases of denotification of land at Rachenahalli in Bangalore by allegedly flouting norms. The court is hearing 15 cases of land scams and corruption filed by the advocates. Yeddyurappa had earlier said he would quit politics if the charges were proved.
