Maharashtra police to get modern arms: Patil

Police force in the state will be provided modern weapons to fight terrorists and police teams will be sent to various countries to learn about modern techniques, said Home Minister Jayant Patil.

Police force in the state will be provided modern weapons to fight terrorists and police teams will be sent to various countries to learn about modern techniques, said Home Minister Jayant Patil.

Inaugurating the Bharat Reserve Battalion building at Satara village on Sunday, Patil said that the talks are on with the Tata Consultancy for developing a portal so as to make the police department hightech.

The police force is facing many problems like housing and physical fitness. Similarly, the facilities available to the state police force are comparatively less than other nations.

Jayant Patil also laid foundation stone to the other new building of the Bharat Reserve police force in Aurangabad.

Minister for Housing, Slum Improvement, Repairs & Reconstruction Pritam Kumar Shegaonkar, MP Chandrakant Khaire, MLA Rajendra Darda and other top police officials were present.
