The Maharashtra government is in the final stages of launching its web portal Majha Sarkar, which will enable you to file Right to Information (RTI) queries online, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Monday.
“The facility will enhance transparency in the government as you will be able to interact online with the government under the Right to Information Act,” said Fadnavis.
The chief minister said the web portal will also offer all government facilities, such as stamp duty payments and applying for driving licences, online. The system will work on the basis of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digital India programme, he said, adding the date for launching the website will be announced after a month.
Fadnavis said developing urban areas in a proper manner was his government’s priority, because half of the state’s population lives in cities. “Growing urbanisation has given rise to problems that need good planning and execution,” he said. The development plans of 25 cities, which were pending at the government level, were approved in 15 days under his administration, Fadnavis said.
“Problems such as illegal structures become commonplace if development plans are not approved,” he said. Similar plans for Pune and Kalyan will be approved soon, Fadnavis said.
