Man throws acid on wife, 3 kids; one child dies

In a macabre incident, a man, annoyed over constant refusal by his wife to return from her parents place, allegedly threw acid over his wife and three kids leading to the death of one of the children in Ghatampur area of the district.

In a macabre incident, a man, annoyed over constant refusal by his wife to return from her parents place, on Wednesday allegedly threw acid over his wife and three kids leading to the death of one of the children in Ghatampur area of the district.

The incident took place at around 3 am on wednesday when, Chand babu, a resident of Rawatpur area in the district, reached his in-laws place, police said.

His wife Moni, along with their three kids, Afroz, Fiza and three-year-old Nisha, was sleeping in the veranda of the house.

Chand asked Moni to return with him, but she refused. Annoyed over her refusal, he beat her up. Hearing the noise, the kids woke up and started crying.

Chand then allegedly poured acid, which he had brought with him, on his wife and the kids and escaped from the spot, they said.

The neighbours rushed the injured to a hospital where doctors declared Nisha brought dead, while the others have been admitted in a critical situation.
