"The headless body was recovered near a river bridge at Gamaria Raja Bazaar and the victim's head was found after a search of the area during the day," sub-divisional police officer AK Sinha told reporters.

A leaflet left by the guerrillas read that similar would be the fate of police "informers", he said, adding the dead man’s identity was being ascertained.
