Kerala Revenue Minister K P Rajendran today said that the state Government had decided to set up a medical University in Kerala.

He, however, said no decision had been taken on where to locate the proposed medical university. A special officer would soon be appointed for working out details of the proposal.

The nursing college, to be started under the Thrissur Medical college, would be opened on the occasion of the valedictory session of the state's Golden Jubilee celebrations here in December, he told a press meet here.
Former Kerala assembly speaker, Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA who was also present, said Thrissur would be the appropriate location for the medical university.
