ENRAGED students of CCS University came out on the streets on Monday morning against university officials who sent their copies to bogus evaluaters in Agra.

The students ransacked the house of proctor Prof A. P. Garg and then set it on fire. They also attacked the residence of pro VC Dr S. N. Rai and damaged vehicles and furniture there.

A group of enraged students then jammed the Meerut-Garh road and damaged many passing vehicles. Students have threatened the university officials to intensify their movement if the culprits were not booked soon. RAF and police were deployed on the campus.

Agra police had on Saturday exposed the racket in which students of intermediate and lower classes were hired on contract for evaluation of copies of B A, BBA, and other classes.

Meanwhile, the State government today ordered an inquiry into the entire issue and placed Meerut University registrar BL Arya under suspension.

An FIR has been lodged against Dr Rajnikant under section 420 and 201 of IPC. He allegedly distributed copies to bogus examiners for evaluation. In Agra, there were reports of more recoveries of answer sheets from all parts of city.

“Police have recovered about one thousand bundles having about 50,000 copies of CCS varsity,” revealed DP Singh, inspector at New Agra Police station. A team of officials from Meerut University is here in Agra to coordinate with the police.

Meanwhile, RP Singh on Monday told police during interrogation that CCSU had allotted the exam papers to Rajanikant Upadhyaya, vice-principal of Krishna Degree College in Agra, for evaluation.

Singh claimed he got the papers from Upadhyaya, the nodal officer for evaluating the papers, who however denied the charge.
