"No directive on banning the products has been received by the state from New Delhi," Health Minister ED Marak told on Saturday.

Marak said Union Health Minister A Ramdoss, whom he met in Delhi a few days ago, asked him to collect samples of soft drinks and send them for testing.

Ramadoss, however, told him that there were technicalities involved in banning the colas. The Minister said that samples had been sent for laboratory tests in Kolkata.

"We have sent some bottles of Coca Cola and Pepsi to the Central Food Laboratory in Kolkata on Friday for testing. The results are expected in a few days," he said.

After receiving the lab reports, the state government will send them to the Centre for its opinion, he said.
