"We have decided to meet the governor to apprise him of our demands. It is unfortunate on the part of the governor that the public representatives were driven away from the main gate of the Raj Bhavan on the plea that he (Governor) has no time for us", Mehbooba told reporters.

She said a junior officer approached them at the main gate of the Raj Bhavan and asked them to retreat as nobody would be allowed inside the premises without the prior permission.

Principal secretary to the governor B B Vyas when contacted by PTI for his comment said he was not aware of the development as he was busy with the visit of vice-president M Hamid Ansari.

Sources said the Governor was not present at the Raj Bhavan when the PDP leaders reached there.

She also criticised the manner in which the Shopian incident was handled by the State Government and demanded severe punishment for those involved in the alleged rape and murder of two women there on May 30.
