Memo to CM to reduce tax on petrol, diesel

THE STATE Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat would soon submit a memorandum to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan demanding reduction in taxes on petrol and diesel.

THE STATE Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat would soon submit a memorandum to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan demanding reduction in taxes on petrol and diesel.

Grahak Panchayat state president Prof Shyam Sundar Palod informed that the units from Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Sagar and Chhindwara would unite against high prices of petroleum products in the state. Prof Palod said that state government collects 30.4% tax that affects the prices of petrol and diesel. He explained that this in turn increase cost of transportation and daily goods too. Prof Palod said that heavy vehicles get their tanks filled before entering Madhya Pradesh border thus causing loss to petrol pumps here.

Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat national executive committee members Santosh Godbole (Jabalpur), Neeraj Maheshwari (Gwalior), Sharad Kasbekar, Manohar Sharma (Ujjain), Mohan Bari (Bhopal), Abhishek Bhatt (Sagar), Satya Prakash Shukla (Dindori), Bhagirath Vishwakarma (Narsinghpur), R N Nandekar (Chhindwara) and Sheshkumar Dubey (Rewa) would accompany Prof Palod while submitting memorandum to the Chief Minister.
