A minor tribal girl was on Wednesday rescued from New Delhi and handed over to her parents at Petabeda village near Rourkela, police said.

They said 14-year-old Sushila was taken to New Delhi by a middleman two years ago with the promise of a job at Rs 1200 per month.

But, she was sold to a Delhi-based placement organisation for Rs 5000, police said, adding the girl was later forced to work as a domestic help at a house were she was physically and mentally tortured.
Her parents lodged a complaint with police and the girl was rescued with the help of an NGO, Disha.C
