Forgot to switch on the recording function on your TV set top box before leaving home? If you are an Airtel DTH (direct-to-home) subscriber, you can now do so from wherever you are using your mobile phone. The only condition is that your set top box should be switched on.
“We are introducing the facility for the first time in India wherein a subscriber can use the mobile phone to record live TV programmes from anywhere in the country and anytime of the day,” said Ajai Puri, director and CEO of Bharti Telemedia — the DTH arm of Bharti group.
At present such a facility is available only in the UK and the US. Bharti Telemedia, a late entrant in the DTH field, started its services in 2008 and has 2.5 million subscribers. At present there are about 22 million DTH subscribers in India.
