The government should not misuse central agencies, Modi remarked in Delhi.
Eight years after the teenage girl from Mumbra and three others were killed — ostensibly because they were LeT terrorists on a mission to kill Modi — the investigation is moving on a fast track. The SIT had established that the four were killed in cold blood by Gujarat police.
Now, the course of CBI’s inquiry — which involves chief public prosecutor Sudhir Brahmbhatt and senior Intelligence Bureau (IB) official Rajinder Kumar – may prove that Modi and his former junior home minister Amit Shah were in the know about the murders.
Brahmbhatt is close to former junior home minister Amit Shah, a key accused in Sohrabuddin encounter case. Kumar, whose role is also under scrutiny in the Sadiq Jamal fake encounter case, allegedly planted fake inputs about Lashkar targeting Modi, to facilitate the murders.
“If Brahmbhatt and Kumar talk, it can create huge trouble for Amit Shah and even Mod,” said a senior IPS officer, who had been part of the SIT.
