MP: 9-year-old booked for injuring girl with pencil in school

The police have lodged an FIR against a nine-year-old boy who accidently hurt a minor girl which resulted in the latter losing vision in one eye. The incident occurred at a government school in Betul a few days ago.

The police have lodged an FIR against a nine-year-old boy who accidently hurt a minor girl which resulted in the latter losing vision in one eye. The incident occurred at a government school in Betul a few days ago.

The boy, who studies in class 5, hurled a pencil in the air and it hit the girl's eye. The victim got injured and was rushed to a hospital. The girl's mother lodged a complaint at Ganj police station on Tuesday after the doctor treating the girl said she will not be able to see with one eye as her retina has been damaged.

Both the boy and girl belong to poor families. Police station in-charge Nikita Wilson said the boy has been booked under section 338 of IPC which is meant for causing grievous hurt.
