MP announces Rs 10 lakh to family of Lt Colonel

The Chief Minister also visited Lt Col Chouhan's house in Jabalpur and conveyed his condolence and sympathy to the family members of the late army officer.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced Rs 10 lakh for the family of Lieutenant Colonel Vinay Rao Chouhan who was killed in an encounter with terrorists at Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

The Chief Minister also visited Lt Col Chouhan's house in Jabalpur and conveyed his condolence and sympathy to the family members of the late army officer.

Expressing deep sorrow over the death of Lt Col Chouhan, he said the army officer displayed extra ordinary valour and courage while fighting the terrorists and laid down his life to become a martyr.
