Director Jagmohan Mundhra is all set to bring a film based on the suicide bombings on London transport system that took place on 7 July 2005, and has roped in veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri in the lead roles.

However, while the movie is based on the attacks, Mundhra insists his Shoot on Site, is mostly fictional.

One of the bases that Mundhra has taken for the film is the shooting of innocent Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes by the UK police following the attacks.

Mundhra’s film however, will show the victim as a Muslim boy, and will depict how once the authorities realise they have made a mistake, they try to cover it up by getting a Muslim policeman to act as the spokesman.

The policeman is also loosely based on real-life Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur.

"I noticed after 7 July suddenly Mr Ghaffur's presence was seen a lot on television addressing the media on behalf of Scotland Yard so I did go and meet him. But my character is a fictional composite," BBC News quoted Mundhra, as saying.

Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah will be portraying the role of the top cop, after efforts to bring in Amitabh Bachchan failed, and Om Puri will be playing the role of a fundamentalist Muslim Imam.

The film will be shot from 21 May to 14 July and Mundhra hopes to have it completed before the year end.
